Men's Ministry
October 29, 8am East Cypress Community Center
1318 East Cypress Ave.
Chosen Men
What a weekend!  I hope you were blessed and challenged as I was.  I did a quick and partial survey of many of you and I felt there was a general positive response to this weekend.  Yes there were some hardships of which I was a contributor (excessive noise making in the sleeping compartment), the food and the sore butts from sitting on those chairs for so long.  I know not every speaker may have resonated with you either but hopefully there was one or two that you felt touched you in a special way.

The question we all need to ask ourselves right now is "what next?"  What do we do with this experience and challenge?  I have a couple of suggestions that I would like to throw out to you.

1. Let's all plan on meeting together at the next men's ministry breakfast on Sunday, October 29th. at 8:00 am.
2. I want to brain storm about our men's ministry and where it can and might go.
3. I want to talk about next year, do you want to go? Should we come up with something (T-shirt or vest) with logo that identifies us.  How do we promote it to grow our attendance?  Can we fund raise to help guys go that can't afford it.
4. How do we get our younger men and boys involved more in our local ministry and get them to a retreat like this.

I want to act while things are fresh in your minds and to move before we get stale.  Please mark your calendars and tell you wives now that this is important that you attend.  Chosen men of God, we need to act and God has chosen us for such a time as this.

Dennis will be contacting you to help with either cooking or cleaning up for that morning.  God bless and I was really proud of you this weekend, I guess since Steve said I was acting like your daddy I might as well accept the role ;-)  Pastor Kevin

What is Love and Respect?
We believe love best motivates a woman and respect most powerfully motivates a man. Research reveals that during marital conflict a husband most often reacts unlovingly when feeling disrespected, and a wife reacts disrespectfully when feeling unloved. We asked 7,000 people the question, "When you are in a conflict with your spouse or significant other, do you feel unloved or disrespected?" 83% of the men said "disrespected" and 72% of the women said "unloved." Though we all need love and respect equally, the felt need differs during conflict, and this difference is as different as pink is from blue!
